The former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, on Wednesday, expressed disappointment at Nigerians’ response to the current economic challenges in the country.
Amaechi, who spoke in an interview with Igbere TV, lamented that the youths have not taken the protest against the high cost of living in Nigeria seriously.
The ex-minister stressed that he expected Nigerians to take their campaign against the economic hardship to the streets to force the Federal Government to look into their plights and come up with solutions.
He said: “People should be angry because you cannot see a group of people stealing your money without doing anything. I am really angry with the citizens because they are not doing anything.

“Look at what happened in Edo State, should any politician be campaigning in Edo State? See, some of us cannot afford to buy diesel again because it’s costly.”
Amaechi has distanced himself from President Bola Tinubu’s administration since it came on board on May 29 last year.
The former Rivers State governor also stayed away from the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaigns for the 2023 presidential election and reportedly worked for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, during the poll.
He finished second behind President Tinubu in the APC presidential primary held in June 2022.
